SUMMARY

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel with a background in property development and/or construction. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney. Working with an excellent General Counsel, you’ll play a key role as the business continues to develop and grow.

 

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading property development group with a focus on  high-quality developments across a range of commercial, mixed-use and residential projects.

 

THE ROLE

You will provide day-to-day legal advisory services to support the company’s operations, including property development, construction, and hospitality.

Permanent, full-time position based in Sydney CBD

  • Review, draft, and negotiate real estate construction and commercial contracts.
  • Advise senior management on property development transaction structures and risk issues.
  • Support the General Counsel in negotiating new business opportunities.
  • Provide legal services to the construction business, including drafting contract precedents.
  • Advise on compliance and risk-related matters according to regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist in resolving disputes and managing relationships with external counsel.

 

ABOUT YOU

You are a commercially minded lawyer with a strong background in property development and excellent communication skills.

  • Current Australian legal practising certificate
  • At least 6 years’ experience in property development, construction or similar.
  • Concise and direct plain English drafting skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Experience working with senior management and a range of key stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A collaborative approach to working with teams and external parties.
