SUMMARY:

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join an established media company for a 12-month contract, with the potential for a permanent position. This role involves negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, managing intellectual property, and partnering with the business, with flexible work-from-home options available.

THE ROLE:

As interim Senior Legal Counsel, you will support the entire business, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, and policy development. This role is critical in managing legal risks and fostering partnerships within the organisation.

  • Negotiate and draft commercial contracts to support the organisation’s operations and partnerships
  • Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters relevant to the media industry
  • Review and develop internal policies to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build genuine partnerships and support business objectives
  • Assist with company secretarial duties, ensuring adherence to governance standards
  • Work closely with the General Counsel and contribute to the legal team’s overall strategy and initiatives

 

ABOUT YOU:

You are an experienced legal professional with solid commercial contract negotiation and drafting experience. You possess a solid understanding of intellectual property and are adept at forming genuine partnerships with business stakeholders.

  • At least 7 years’ experience in a legal role, with commercial contracts and IP/Media experience/exposure
  • Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial contracts
  • Familiarity with media, licensing and IP rights in the media industry is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex legal issues
  • Experience in reviewing and creating policies to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Company secretarial experience would be helpful, but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders
