THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, this position is integral to the organisation’s compliance with the ACCC’s regulatory framework and broader legal obligations. You will be accountable for building and maintaining a robust, compliance frameworks while ensuring training, reporting, and regulatory requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing a compliance framework tailored to ACCC requirements, including monitoring regulatory obligations and developing reporting tools for the Board and management.
- Overseeing all training related to compliance obligations, ensuring content meets ACCC standards and completion is tracked across the organisation.
- Managing all correspondence with the ACCC and the Independent Auditor, including implementing audit recommendations and responding to regulatory directions within set timeframes.
- Conducting regular compliance control testing, identifying gaps, and developing treatment plans to address these issues.
- Preparing detailed compliance reports for the Board, committees, and management to ensure alignment with legal obligations and business priorities.
- Reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and controls to align with regulatory requirements.
- Supporting the Legal team with risk management frameworks for Australian Consumer Law, the Franchise Code, and Unfair Contracts.
You will engage with key internal stakeholders, regulators, and senior leaders to uphold the organisation’s commitment to compliance excellence.
ABOUT YOU
You are an accomplished Compliance Professional with significant experience in regulatory risk management, ideally within large, complex organisations. You thrive in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and clear communication are essential to success. Your ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels sets you apart.
Key requirements include:
- A tertiary qualification in law or commerce.
- At least 5 years’ experience in compliance risk management or a legal and regulatory compliance function.
- Strong expertise in designing and maintaining compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Advanced organisational and planning skills, focusing on attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior management and Boards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other reporting tools.
Desirable skills:
- Familiarity with ACCC regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, retail, or healthcare sectors.
