SUMMARY

Excellent role for an experienced General Counsel & Company Secretary with expertise within the telecommunications sector. This opportunity is initially offered as a part-time role, 2-3 days a week, for a 6-month secondment with the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment.

 

THE COMPANY

Our client is an exciting new joint venture within the telecommunications and infrastructure sector, focusing on innovative solutions across Australia.

 

THE ROLE

You will provide comprehensive legal guidance for the joint venture, overseeing contract management and compliance with relevant regulations. Your role will also involve negotiating and drafting key agreements essential for the joint venture’s success.

Initially starting out as an interim contract role working part-time (2-3 days per week), this role may be done from Sydney, Canberra or initially on a remote working basis.

The scope of the role includes:

  • Set up the legal function for the joint venture
  • Negotiate, draft, and review key contracts, including project and access agreements
  • Advise on compliance and risk management related to legal matters
  • Corporate governance and Company Secretary
  • Management of disputes and collaborate with external legal counsel where necessary
  • Engage with external legal counsel as necessary

 

ABOUT YOU

You are an accomplished legal professional with demonstrated experience working within telecommunications sector. Prior experience in relation to joint ventures will also be beneficial. You have a strong commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes effectively.

  • Over 10 years’ experience
  • Proven track record in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts.
  • Experience with corporate governance and compliance matters.
  • Current Australian unrestricted practicing certificate.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain criminal record check and security clearance.
