Senior Legal Counsel – Education Sector – Permanent

THE ORGANISATION:

A leading organisation in the education sector. The legal team ensures smooth operations and compliance with a focus on safeguarding and ethical agreements. Offering a hybrid work environment, this role balances office collaboration with work-from-home flexibility.

THE ROLE:

• Permanent full-time role
• Sydney-based with a hybrid work model—2 days WFH, 3 days in office.
• Key responsibilities include:
  • Advising on anti-discrimination, personal injury and family law related matters.
  • Supporting commercial BAU legal work such as procurement, supply chain management, contract review, negotiation and related disputes.
  • Education Act compliance and safeguarding matters.

Start Date: ASAP

ABOUT YOU:

• Current Australian practising certificate
• Prior experience within the education sector or servicing clients in the education sector is highly beneficial.
• You excel at managing a broad scope of legal work, including experience in areas such anti-discrimination, regulatory compliance, commercial legal work and dispute resolution.
• You are adaptable, proactive, and thrive in a community-focused organisation.
