Legal Counsel – Banking Product Experience – Interim or Permanent

THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join our client’s dynamic legal team. In this role, you will:
- Provide Pragmatic Legal Advice: Offer practical and commercial legal guidance on new technology solutions that support various retail banking products.
- Draft, Review, and Negotiate Contracts: Handle a wide array of commercial contracts across the tech and banking & finance sectors, ensuring compliance and protecting business interests.
- Advise on Legal Matters: Provide expert advice on risk, compliance, corporate governance, general commercial issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with other team members and key internal stakeholders to support business objectives and drive success.
- Interim 4-month role with the potential to become permanent
Start Date: ASAP
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 5+ Years of Legal Experience: Ideally, with a focus on retail banking or consumer credit products, such as home loans.
- Current Legal Practising Certificate: Essential for this role.
- Commercial Acumen: A strong commercial focus with the ability to balance legal considerations with business needs.
- Strong Organisational Skills: Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly.
